775 charsWith respect to the time period during which a landlord must fulfill the requirements for the proper return of a tenant’s security deposit, the language of the statute is similarly clear. Reading together subdivisions (2) and (4) of § 47a-21 (d), if the landlord has received written notice of the tenant’s forwarding address, the landlord must return the deposit, or balance thereof, along with any written accounting of damages, within thirty days of the end of the tenancy. If the landlord does not receive written notice of the tenant’s forwarding address by the end of the tenancy, the landlord must return the deposit by the later of either thirty days after the end of the tenancy or fifteen days after receipt of the written notice of the tenant’s forwarding address.
