528 chars. We note that our analysis does not turn on the nature of the plaintiff’s ownership interest as a “condominium” or a single fee simple. The impact of legislation affecting the condominium form of ownership is no different than if the same statutory tenancy had been imposed on the form of fee ownership existing before the conversion. The question is whether the creation of the protected tenancies here involved amounted to an impairment of the obligation of contract, regardless of the nature of the underlying fee ownership.
