As we previously have observed, "it is unlikely the Legislature, in providing courts with broad equitable powers to remedy violations under section 17203, intended those powers be limited in an illogical, unfair and counterproductive manner." *510 (ABC Internal. Traders, Inc. v. Matsushita Electric Corp. (1997) 14 Cal.4th 1247, 1270, 61 Cal.Rptr.2d 112, 931 P.2d 290 (ABC).) Section 17203 does not "restrict the court's general equity jurisdiction `in so many words, or by a necessary or inescapable inference.'" (People v. Superior Court [Jayhill Corp.)] (1973) 9 Cal.3d 283, 286, 107 Cal.Rptr. 192, 507 P.2d 1400 (Jayhill) [discussing § 17535].) "In the absence of such a restriction a court of equity may exercise the full range of its inherent powers in order to accomplish complete justice between the parties, restoring if necessary the status quo ante as nearly as may be achieved."
