Entity under review: A bidder, responder to a request for proposals, developer, owner or prospective contractor
seeking to contract with the City or the Minneapolis Community Development Agency.
Equity: The guarantee of fair and just opportunities and outcomes for all people, while at
the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the
full participation of some groups.
Familial status: The condition of having legal status or custody of one (1) or more minors with the
minor's parent or parents or the minor's legal guardian or guardians or the designee
of the parent or parents or guardian with the written permission of the parent or
parents or guardian or guardians. Familial status also means residing with and caring
for one (1) or more individuals who lack the ability to meet essential requirements
for physical health, safety, or self-care because the individual or individuals are
unable to receive and evaluate information or make or communicate decisions. The protections
afforded against discrimination on the basis of familial status apply to any person
who is pregnant or is in the process of securing legal custody of an individual who
has not attained the age of majority.
Gender identity: A person's sense of self as a woman, man, another gender, or genderless. When a person's
gender identity or gender expression and sex assigned at birth are not congruent,
the individual may identify along the transgender spectrum.
Hearing committee: A committee of three (3) persons who have been designated by the chairperson of the
commission to hear an appeal after a determination of probable cause or a finding
of non-compliance and referral by the director.
