reputation in handling abusive debt collection practices and experience working with

debt collectors, and “[s]ubsumed” in his hourly rate was his prior experience in debt

collection, the location of his office in the Seattle metro area, and the “current elevated

rates of inflation.” Anderson identified the greater Seattle area as the relevant legal

community for comparison for legal services and other costs. 5

In his supporting declaration, Santiago testified that his experience in debt

collection matters has stemmed from his practice at Anderson Santiago, PLLC, which

he founded with Anderson. Santiago stated that his hourly rate is $565 as of 2025,

which “is a reasonable rate in light of not only my number of years of experience, but

also the type of experience … with matters that frequently arise in connection with

unlawful practices against consumers.” Santiago testified that the $565 hourly rate

accounted for his past trial experience as a deputy prosecuting attorney, experience in

the debt collection industry, the location and associated costs of the firm’s Seattle metro

office, and the “current elevated rates of inflation.” 6
